The laconic style of the famous Italian fashion designer Nino Cerruti, who created the clothes (and, therefore, images) for the main heroes of “The beauty” and “Basic instinct”, has already impressed the whole world – from Tokio to New York.
His creativity is based on three main principles: freedom in fabric combination, freedom in design and those forms of clothes, that correspond to the forms of the body. To wear his clothes, one should possess a basic quality – he or she has to know, how to look natural.
The history of Cerruti starts in 1881, when three brothers, Antonio, Quintino and Stefano Cerruti opened a small textile factory Lanificio Felli Cerruti in Bielle, North Italy. These places had always been known for quality textiles, but it was Nino Cerruti, who led the family business to a completely new level and made a revolution in the world of fashion. In 1950 after his father’s death, Nino left university, where he was studying journalistic, and at the age of 20 he headed the family business. At that time his factory was considered the best Italian producer of wool for men’s suits.
In 1957 Nino Cerruti launched the first line of clothes for men, and since that time Cerruti means not only excellent woolen fabric, but also clothes for men of unsurpassable quality.
In 1967 a studio with male pret-a-porter line was opened in Paris, and in 1968 textile production was turned into international trade mark. A Cerutti shop was opened in Paris, on Madlen square. The whole world understood, that under Cerutti logo there is something, that should be worn with chick and dignity. In 1970 Nino Cerutti was the one to make the phrase "Made in Italy" a synonym of quality and being modern.
