Escada company is still very young in comparison with the venerable dons of the industry. It was created in 1978 by the couple Margaretha and Wolfgang Ley. The headquarters of the company is located in Munich, Germany. Escada started as a clothes retailer, and in 1986 became a public corporation. We must admit, that the policy of the company is very aggressive and includes rapid expansion and extremely successful headhunting. The first statement can be proved by the number of 60 countries Escada has its outlets in – this is a huge number, and only several world-famous companies can compete with this expansion. The second statement is proved by names: the CEO’s name is Jean-Marc Loubier, who used to work for Louis Vuitton, and the creative director is Damiano Biella (headhunted from Valentino).
The company’s style is based on unusual colour and pattern combinations, as well as on special designs of embroidery and knitted clothes and items. This variety of styles and tastes has determined the company’s immense success in the market. Today Escada retails first of all women clothes (Escada Collection and Escada Sport are the most popular brands) and accessories, and, of course, perfumes.
