The clothes by Naf Naf trade mark enjoy wide success all over the world. Fashionable, stylish and modern, it has impressed fashion lovers with its quality and unusual style.
As one can easily guess, the company got its name after a pig from a fairy tale. The company was founded in 1976 by two brothers – Jerard and Patrick Periant, the youngest one had a nick name Naf Naf, when he was young. In 1976 the brothers decided to test their creativity and to create a fashion line for the young customers.
During its 30 year long history Naf Naf became world-famous and widely recognized. The boutiques of the fashion company appeared in approximately 50 countries all over the world, and only in France the company owns more than 200 shops. Also Naf Naf supports constant business relations with its distributors in Europe, Japan and Middle east, and tries to widen its economical connections.
Jerard and Patrick Periant are considered very important and well-known people in French business circles, and in 1995 they were awarded the prize of French entrepreneurs “for creativity and braveness”.
The main innovations, brought by the designers of this popular trade mark into the world of fashion, include:
- First of all, jeans dungarees, that were included into Naf Naf 1983 collection. According to the explanation of the trade mark owners, the dungarees occasionally got into a washing machine, and got the so-called “boiled” look. Jerard and Patrick started to think of excluding the dungaree from the collection, but un a lucky occasion the model was noticed by a retailer and turned to a real top of fashion at once. From this on the career of Naf Naf went up and its popularity started to increase.
- The second item, that determined the company’s success, is a best seller of the year 1987 – a “doudune” jacket. It was developed by the fashion designer of the company and still remains popular among the youngsters.
Since the release of the jacket Naf Naf, already acknowledged in the professional circles, remains an ever-popular brand.
