On the one hand, as we know, devil does not refuse to wear it. On the other hand, if even devil him(or her?)self knows about this company, it can certainly be called world-famous and an icon of style. This is Prada – one of the most recognizable and the most luxurious brands in the world.
The company was founded in 1913 as a private one, and the name of its owner is Mario Prada. The company was founded and is nowadays located in Milan, Italy. At first Prada specialized only in leather products – designer footwear and bags. In 1978, when Miuccia Prada, the granddaughter of Mario, became the head of the company, the latter became more couture-oriented: Prada started to produce more clothes, its shoes and boots continued to be world-famous, its perfumes started to gain popularity, and its accessories are sold worldwide. Prada becomes an icon of bohemian style in the whole world.
Prada is not a single fashion house, but it acts in close cooperation with many other companies. It owns the stocks of the famous Fendi company, it bought a British footwear company Church’s, it works in close cooperation with LG Electronics (together they have designed a new cellular phone LG Prada KE850), and it also supports talented architects and artists by giving them huge offers for creating Prada boutiques – 12 of the are located only in the United States.
Prada is today not only the source of eternal beauty for women all over the world, but also the source of inspirations. Poets write poems in its honour, writers write novels and short stories (one of the novels, called Devil Wears Prada, was written in 2003 and put on the screen in 2006)/ There is also a music band, that performs under the name «The Devil Wears Prada».
