A scented present for your love - how to choose it

Every fourth man in Ireland gave his girlfriend or wife a perfume or make up as a Christmas presnt. Doctor Odrie Kinnahan from the University Late Night Pharmacy is sure, that for the majority it was a hard choice, because our men are still not skilled in choosing make-up or perfume for the weakest gender. ”Women are ready to try on dozens of samples, choosing something they really need. Men do the shopping in another way: they come to the shop not to choose, but to purchase at once. Thus, they will listen to the advice of an expert, and, if it corresponds to what they know about the subject, they will buy it” – says Dr. Kinnahan.
According to her words, the world economic recession has influenced the customers in the following way: now they search for something famous and well-known, but sold with a free gift of any kind. “And men can really employ this tactics. As far as recommendations are concerned, so for buying a pleasant present a man should carry out several simple operations”, - explains Dr. Kinnahan.
First of all, one has to clear out, which perfumes and make up a woman is using at the moment.
Secondly, you’d better not present her with one and the same perfume through the years. Yes, it may be useful, but it shows, that you lack imagination. One exclusion from this rule occurs, if a woman herself asked to give her an aroma, she is used to.
Thirdly, listen to the hints, usually several weeks before a holiday a woman will give you a clue to what she wants to get as a present.
Fourth, do not be afraid to ask for advice. Its better to clear out some details than just to buy from scratch. In any case, you can not return make up means or perfumes to the shop, if you do not like it.
Then, do not be afraid to buy aroma means for the body. Scrubs, lotions, shower gels, that smell like her favourite eau de toilette, will certainly appeal to her.
Finally, if you know her aroma exactly, buy her a gift set with this scent. It can be sold ready or you can compose it by yourself.
Perfume Through The Ages
If you would like to know, how the life of French perfumers changed from XVI tо XX, you should visit the

Shamrol castle, that was built in XVI century. It is located 100 km from Paris in the valley of the Loire.
Each room of the castle is dedicated to a certain century and represents the interior, in which the perfumers worked in XVI, XVII, XVIII, XIX and XX centuries. The rooms are full of authentic equipment and furniture. Here one can notice boxes, in which travelers brought unknown plants and spices, aromatic balls, hanging from the ceiling, dry mixtures of herbs in dark and dry rooms, the windows of which were always closed for plague not to get into the house. The museum helps us move to the period of time, when each aristocrat had a small make up chest with many departments, where all the make up means, powders and expensive, hand-made perfumes were stored.
Beside this, in the castle one can also see a collection of posters, dedicated to perfumes, and listen to an unusual organ, that “plays” with 270 essences and synthetic ingredients, or walk through the dark rooms, hardly lighted by small lamps, where thousands of flacons, containing old vintage aromas, are stored. Around the castle one can see a beautiful garden, with grapes, rose, lavender, different medical plants and other plants, that have been used as a palette for perfumers for centuries.
In the room, dedicated to XVIII century we can see how the perfumer Jean-Louis Fargeon created aromas for his mistress – the famous Maria-Antoinette. Inspired by one of his formula, modern perfumer Francis Kurkdjian created the ancient aroma. Today it is sold in Versale castle under the name M.A. Sillage de la Reine.
Does Our Choiсe Depend On Nostrils?

There is a great amount of women, for which a perfume is not only a pleasant accessories with fashionable aroma. Having chosen their scent once and forever, they turn it into a part of their image and style. However, if some major changes appear in your life, your style changes as well.
Suppose, you are standing at the door of a perfume shop and you seek to choose something new, unusual, an aroma, which is absolutely different from what you had been using before. So, in the is case you should better follow the advice, that the scientists of the University of California give. First of all you should not be in a hurry. First smell the scent with your right nostril, than, when some minutes have passed, do not forget to smell it with your left nostril. It may well occur, that the scent you loved at first will not satisfy you after the first smell, the question is – why?
After a long period of research scientists have come to a conclusion: scents, that come through the right nostril, seem much more pleasant for us, than those, that we perceive through the left one. It seems to be explained by the fact, that each nostril then passes the information got through it to its own part of our brain. The right part of our brain is responsible for emotions, and it is not prone to detailing information. The left one, on the contrary, is in charge of specifying scents, that is why it is so particular about them. So, it appears, that we like or detest an aroma in accordance to the nostril we perceive it with. What we do not like today may become adorable tomorrow – and vice versa.
Scent of gasoline in a perfume?!

The British supermodel Kate Moss says, that the scent of gasoline inspired her creation of a new scent.
According to the model’s words, it is her little daughter Lila Grace, that loves the scent of gasoline most of all. That is why mother Moss has decided to use it in her new perfume. Kate also believes, that many other people beside her daughter adore the smell of gasoline.
Suddenly it appeared, that the smell of gasoline appeals not only to Kate Moss, but to many other internet users, who were questioned about it. The questionnaire “Do you like the scent of gasoline?” had the following responces:
- I adore it since my childhood, it seems so pleasant and attractive for me! I do not know exactly, what I like about it, but it arouses a number of positive emotions. That is why I like gasoline stations – because of the smell.
- Oh, I love this smell! It is associated with open windows – either of a flat or of a car, with roads and sunsets when you travel, with a city and the sound of cars, or with a stop somewhere on a highway, when you sit in your car, look at the horizon and drink some cold Cola…
- This is a very male scent, certainly. And it arouses so many memories! You remember your old garage, and daddy working there and washing his hands with gasoline to get rid of oil spots on the hands…or you remember the first motorcycle you used to ride when you were a teenager…speed, warm metal and asphalt – all combined in this scent.
It seems to us, that the new scent by Kate Moss is, judging by these commentaries, doomed to enjoy immense success, once it is released. And what do you think?
